Let it Snow

The semester is ending... THANK GOD! Ryan and I are so burnt out on school! We are both done tomorrow and he graduates on the 19th. He is so excited! Once again, November flew by and I have a feeling December will too. Goodbye 2009 and hello to an exciting 2010!

We got to celebrate my niece turning TWO on December 4th!! I can't believe Claire has gotten so big. It seems like yesterday she was a tiny little baby. I will post pictures soon of her birthday party.

Wedding plans are at a stop at the moment. My wedding dress is in and I have my first fitting this Saturday the 12th. We have ordered the bridesmaid dresses and they should be in around March. We will get lots of planning done over the Christmas break. Hopefully the next update will be full of more information.

Thanksgiving was great this year. I had to work the day of Thanksgiving, so we celebrated the day after. I love that my family is so flexible with my work schedule. A few days before Thanksgiving my mom was taken to the ER with severe abdominal pains. It turns out that she had an infected gall bladder and she had to have emergency gall bladder surgery that afternoon. The doctors said that they are glad they caught it and that it was a mean and angry. She only had to spend one night in the hospital and was home in time for Thanksgiving. So my sisters and I came to the rescue and cooked a fabulous dinner!! It was yummy!

We got our first real snow last night and I have to admit it was a beautiful sight to see. I hated the part when I had to drive in the blizzard and the fact that it is freezing outside but the scene was beautiful from my window.

Well I think that is all for now! I will leave you with some pictures from Thanksgiving. I promise that my posts will get more interesting once we get some more planning done. To whoever reads this, I hope you have Happy Holidays and stay warm!!

Love,

Spenser and Ryan

falling into fall...

Well, October came and went and we are now in November. I can't believe how much time flies. Sorry again for the delay in updating. October was a busy month. I have been incredibly stressed out with school and Ryan has been getting last minute projects and lessons before he graduates in December. We are both ready for Christmas break. I will be applying to 4 nursing schools this month so pray that I get in!

Wedding plans are going well. We have picked out the bridesmaid dresses and colors. The girls will be wearing a champagne colored dress with a chocolate brown sash around the waist. They are very cute. Also the boys will be in black tuxedos with chocolate brown vests and ties. We are planning on light pink flowers of some sort. It is coming along! I can't believe that the big day is in 6 months, 4 weeks, and 1 day. Things are defiantly starting to fall into place. It is amazing that this time next year I would have been married for 5 months!!!

Here are a couple pictures of the tuxedos and bridesmaid dresses. There is also one of my adorable nephew and niece at the pumpkin patch!! ENJOY! :)

a duck says moo

Sorry I did not update sooner! I finally figured out how to upload pictures on to this thing thanks to my friend Mallory!! Two weeks ago Ryan and I got our engagement pictures taken! We just got them back today and they look amazing!! Here is a little taste. We are so lucky to have such an amazing photographer, Josh Kirk. We are so excited with how they turned out. We have no clue how we are going to pick! We want all of them! You can check out the rest of the pictures at http://joshkirkphoto.zenfolio.com/p576026300. Last weekend my sister Taylor, her husband Barry and my nephew Lane went on a camping trip so Ryan and I got to spend the whole weekend with Miss Claire Avery Burson! We started off our Saturday by going to the Deanna Rose Farmstead. She LOVED it! She got to feed lots of goats, fish and ducks. She was so worn out! Every time we would ask her what a duck says she would say "Moo!". We had a blast with her but we all were very happy to see her parents when they came home! I think that is all for now! :)

The beginning...

Ok... so I know a few people that have blogs and I love reading them. I guess I just love reading what everyone is up too these days. I have always wanted to start a blog but was not sure what I would write about. But since getting engaged in April, I felt now I have lots of stuff to share with everyone. I thought that this would be a great way for our friends and family to keep up with us. I will be sure to try and post every exciting thing that goes on in our lives. I am not sure how many people will read this but I thought I would give it a try.

Recently I have been crazy busy... I am still working full time at Children's Mercy South hospital in the Urgent Care. I love it. I never was sure what I wanted to do with my life until I got a job there. It is starting to get pretty busy at work with the winter months approaching. I am also going to school at JCCC. I will eventually get into Nursing School and become a RN. I can't wait till that happens. I am also a nanny one day a week for the most adorable little twin boys. I work with there mommy and I love seeing them grow every week. It is also great birth control for me! Haha!

Ryan has been quite busy too. He is currently student teaching in the KCK school district. He is teaching 3rd grade and he loves it. Ryan grew up in Olathe so it is very different for him to see what the inner city KCK school district is like. The school year has been a roller coaster so far. It has been pretty stressful from writing the millions of lesson plans to losing a student to a drowning accident. It has really tested his profession. He is a great teacher and I know that all this will pay off in the end. He will graduate in December.... 88 days till graduation... I think.

As for the wedding... We have got the major plans figured out! The wedding is June 5, 2010. It seems forever away but I know it will fly by. Be sure to check out our wedding website at http://www.mywedding.com/ryancolstonspenserkultala/.

I think that is all for now!
More to come...
